Last Thanksgiving, we got all foxy on you. This Thanksgiving, we’re inspired by another woodland creature: the adorable, doe-eyed deer. Tell those who are near and deer to your heart how much you appreciate them by inviting them over for a delicious, deer-themed Thanksgiving dinner!
Describe the Vibe:
Rustic, vintage cabin, with autumnal plaid, logs, moss, and cute little deer figurines everywhere.
Decor & Table Setting:
Deer plates on plaid – yes! Black and white decor is a current trend, but we also like fall-colored plaids (like brown, forest green, and deep orange).
Bring in the outdoors with seasonal fresh flowers, logs, and moss.
This idea is all over Pinterest, and we love it! Cover the kids’ table with craft paper and set out some crayons. Encourage kids to draw or write down expressions of gratitude. This is also something you could do at the big kids’ (adult!) table.
Most people probably already have their traditional menus in place. What’s on yours? I (Tara) always make a vegetarian feast with my family, which includes: stuffed acorn squash, corn chowder, millet corn bread, sweet potato pudding, and apple crumble (amongst other things!).
Oh deer! How could we pass up this theme-appropriate wine?
Don’t be caught like a deer in headlights without several divine dessert options!
It’s Thanksgiving, so why not dress up a little?
A vintage deer print button-up for the bucks. (It looks like something Chris of Everybody’s Invited would wear!)
A darling deer print dress for the doe.
And felt deer masks for the little fawns at your feast.
