I’ve been dreaming of hosting a Freddie Mercury party. It would be a small get together with my fellow rock-loving friends to celebrate one of the greatest performers of the 20th century. Freddie’s birthday (September 5, 1946) has already passed this year, but we could also celebrate the life of Queen’s lead singer on the anniversary of his death (November 24, 1991).
We would, of course, blast old-school Queen all night, and hold contests for the best Freddie fashion and best Freddie Rock Band performance.
Although born in Zanzibar, Freddie also grew up in India. To escape the Zanzibar Revolution of 1964, Freddie and his family moved to England when he was 17 years old.
I know moustaches are a little overdone, but what would a Freddie party be without them? He did, after all, have a pretty killer one.
Although I’m planning a small party, it would also be really fun to throw a huge hootenanny that’s just as loud and over-the-top as Freddie. Can you imagine how amazing it would have been to attend this star-studded 65th birthday party for Freddie last year?
