Suzy and Sam figuring out their escape plan.

It’s no secret that I love vintage style, especially the loud prints and playfulness of the Sixties. My infatuation with the past started in the fifth grade when I discovered a little band called The Beatles (have you heard of them?). Ever since then, mod dresses, knee-high riding boots, tailored pea coats, and peter pan collars have all been staples in my closet.

A couple of months ago when I saw Wes Anderson’s new movie Moonrise Kingdom (which takes place in 1965), I kept shouting in my head “I have that bag!” and “I own a dress just like that!” The styling in the movie was made for me, and I started thinking about how fun a vintage camping party (or camping trip!) would be. I came home from the movie and immediately created aMoonrise Kingdom Campout Pinterest board full of details inspired by the movie.

Like Suzy Bishop, you could go birdwatching (or people-watching!) with vintage binoculars.
